July 2020 Newsletter

Happy July !!

As some of you know...we had a bit of a water issue on June 19th.  The neighboring shop had an upstairs toilet...two actually. of those tanks had a crack in it.  So water kept coming in to fill the cracked tank but instead went right into my bathroom ceiling, hallway, and classroom!
Check my FaceBook page for all the sad photos!

Long story short...when I came in the shop there was water ALL THE WAY UP TO THE FRONT DOOR!!!  I thought we had a storm and the rain came in through the front of the building.  I opened the door to the classroom to find water all the way up to Lenny!  The bathroom ceiling had caved in, as well as the walls in the hallway.  Needless to say, I have met some wonderful people from North Idaho Flood and Fire.  I HIGHLY recommend these folks if you ever unfortunately need their services.  They have been amazing to work with.  They took tons of photos and are dealing with the insurance companies directly.  Let the three insurance companies fight it out...isn't why they have skyscrapers filled with lawyers?

Anyway, my new classroom floor will be laid this week, so I will start moving my product from the retail side over to the classroom side after the ASG shop hop on July 16-25.  (More info on that in a bit.)  I will most likely be closing the store for a week until they get the flooring finished on the retail side of the space.  I will send out a reminder notification of the exact dates, but it looks to be on July 26 and reopen in time for the Love Notes Mystery Quilt distribution on August 3.  I will probably be in the shop on August 1st to set everything back in place.  If you know me...I will likely do some rearranging at the same time.  I'm going to move Lucy into a bigger room on the classroom side of the building so renters don't feel so claustrophobic!  Stay tuned for videos on facebook!

Speaking of videos...I will once again be participating in
Scott Fortunoff's challenge to all shop owners during the month of August.  The video with the most views can earn a shop credit when placing fabric orders!!  Last year, Scott let me participate even before I was a customer (FreeSpirit, Henry Glass, StudioE, etc.).  Now that's about all I have in the shop!  Stay tuned for my promotion video.  Of course I will wait to post it until my
shop is all put back together.
At least it should be finished before the deadline of the contest!

Cuppa Tea Programs...

AURIFIL:  June and July transports us to Como and Tuscany.

Our daydreams have been filled with such a visit...You watch intently as the Brunate Funicular slowly makes its way up the mountain from the lake. As the mechanical noises of the train fade, your eyes shift and scan the lake shore, taking in the magnificence of the private villas. Boats skim across the water while the sun shines brightly above, the vibrant sky reflected in the pristine blue waters of the lake. Imagine yourself there…
can you feel the sun on your face?

The Como Color Builder features 3 shades of 50wt thread in 2770, 2735, & 2784…
tribute to clear blue skies shining over the sparkling blue waters.

Month seven of our Aurifil Color Builder Subscription Program transports us to Tuscany, one of our all-time favorite destinations. Picture it... you take your place at the table, prepping for an evening of good food and laughter. The table sits outside, overlooking a sprawling vineyard. Crickets are chirping and the air is cooled by a light breeze. It’s evening and the sun is just creeping toward the horizon, spilling rich orange hues across the sky.
You’re struck by the expansive beauty and entranced by the magnificence of an Italian sunset.

The Tuscany Color Builder features 3 shades of 50wt thread in 2214, 1133, & 1104… a tribute to your ideal night with friends, family, laughter, and the soft glow of the sun sinking
behind the mountains in the distance.
